I am currently playing in the 769 bookmark. In the Vanilla, there is an option to renounce Iconoclasm, which converts you and forces almost all of the characters under you to convert to Orthodox. In CK2+, that option exist when I play the Byzantine emperor in the 769 bookmark. However, instead of converting to Orthodox, they convert to Chalcedonian because Iconoclast is still considered as a Chalcedonian heresy instead of Orthodox heresy. So, because I chose the game rule to split the Chalcedonian into Catholic and Orthodox, I waited a couple of days for all Chalcedonians to choose their religion and split the religion completely, because apparently it is not instant. After a week, the option 'renounce Iconoclasm' is gone, as well as the 'abandon Heresy' option. Furthermore, a new option similar to 'abandon heresy' becomes available, but instead of converting to Chalcedonian, it converts you to Orthodox, and only you alone. Is this intended or is this a bug? I just want to split Chalcedonian and remove the threat of Iconoclast becoming the mainstream religion. I know its possible to convert everyone via cheats, but that would take so long. Anyone has any suggestion?

If you've ever played a vassal underneath the Emperor post-iconoclastic era, you'll notice his general response to your question is revoke everything and execute the heretics.

Though I'd suggest revoke everything and then bury the people you revoked titles from under newer Chalcedonian dukes, that way you get positive relation from your new dukes, and you don't get the extra tyranny from murder.
