How do I check if an honorary title position is filled?

I tried this:

            any_courtier_or_vassal = {
                has_minor_title = title_griot
            }

But it seems to be completely random when it evaluates to true or false. What is the actual way?

I think this scope just doesn't work. It only checks one, specific, random character. I guess I'll have to add that to the wiki. What is the real scope that I have to use?
