How Do I Conquer and Propose (Marriage?

Good evening from Canada! I would like to know how to conquer someone and propose a royal marriage. I'm usually barred from doing either. Any suggestions?

You usually have to be of the same religion (didn't you take that manual with you into the bathtub =).

unless your countries' religion is Orthodox. If so then you can marry any Catholic religion

I take the manual with me everywhere-I am still finishing it up (I have only had the game since last friday-i know, i know, shame on me!)

I must say, I LOVE THIS GAME!

As for the royal marriages, aren't they a pain?

Also, Can you annex a country that is vassilized at the beginning of the game, but is not of the same religion as you?
