Hello. As my attempt to learn to create own shields crashed with a bang thanks to my antivirusprogram, I want to make a map instead. So I have a couple of questions...

1. What programs do I need to do it? :p

2. How do i do it?

3. I have seen that Krantz and deallus often paint their maps in different colors. What is this usefull for?

4. Any links to good sites with detailed maps with provinces and citites for around 1400-1500?

5. What would be most interesting; A map with Vanilla Europe + North Africa and a tiny bit around Outremer, or a map with the same above, but that stretches to Khazak Horde, having the Arabian peninsula and include the Timurid's eastern holdings?

6. What would be most interesting to do it for; A very vanilla based scenario, or a more fantasy one? (Not anything totally out in the blue, but more ahistorical)

7. If such a map would be made, would there be any interest in it?

I'd say the best type of map for to you to make at present would be a map of medieval Europe :)

There are two or three world maps under construction (although some are clearly a lot better than others :p), but some of us have always wanted a map focusing on the Crusades and the Hundred Years War, etc.

It'd me much easier than pissing about with South America and Australia, certainly ;)

Or how about an Amerindian map, so that you could play one of the American Indian tribes, with four provinces on the eastern edge called 'England' 'France' 'Spain' and 'Holland' :D

What timeframe more exactly are you thinking about?

Strict historical?

Pretty much, if you would.

I just think it'd be great, because there are lots of great mods which would benefit no end from such a map. And at the end of the day, other than Portugal, by 1453 the idea of colonisation was pretty much a non-entity, and it's the end of both English dreams of a union with France, and Constantinople, so I think it's an excellent end date.

1066 is fairly obviously :D

Aye.

Awful game. Spent £9 on it and can't understand it at all. Map isn't very nice, either.

EU2 all the way! :D (with a spot of HoI2 from time to time...)

I also want a 1066-1453 map for EU2

Would be nice to see you create one.

If you need help only ask me! ;)

The CK map is nice, but no idea to use it for EU2, better to create a new and better.

Alright. The general support seems to lean towards 1066-1453, so that's pretty much settled.

I have already started to do some preparations for Iberia and Norden.

BTW, Krantz, this Magellan you were speaking about. Is it needed to have both Photoshop and Magellan? And where can I get it?

If you have msn you can add me, by that way you can get more help.

:D Or If I'am on very good mod, I can drive down to Malmö to help you!
But only if you have a nice looking sister in my age! :D

I have one that's about half your age. So as long as you're not a pedo...

I think we should leave this particular line of discussion....
