How do I find dead characters?

Is there any way to find a dead character? Apparently my sister was murdered years ago and I just found out. I want to eradicate this person's entire dynasty as revenge. How do I find this guy... the person who ordered her murder is most likely dead so I plan to go after his family but I need to find the dead guy first. He is like from Wales or somewhere so he has a very long confusing name, lol... how can I find this guy's family?!?!

I cant just let people murder family members with no response!

That's only helpful if the murderer is actually known and I don't think you can search for dead characters but I've never tried tbf

As far as I can tell, there's no option to search for dead characters, but if you know your sisters' murderer, you can just click on the skull by her portrait to get the dude who did it, and then search for his dynasty in char search to find the rest.
If you don't know who did it, then it's poor form to wipe out Wales and assume you got them.

thanks, i ended up doing this... i wish there was a mod to make the in game character search much more smarter. Filters for dead characters, people with claims or no claims at all... etc

i have seen mods that add traits and then you can search for the trait which is pretty creative but i wish the actual search script was updated by paradox

sad ending... this person was part of some no name dynasty and the dynasty already died off... it only had a couple members

so no revenge for me :*(

If my memory serves me correctly, you *can* search for people with claims, just search for the title you want a claim for. Either that, or just go to the title's page, and click on claiments.

If you searched for dead characters, you'd have a fucking massive list and a lot of lag when searching, since the vast majority of characters are dead.
