I read somewhere that there is a cheat console from where you can fire events manually. How do I do that? First call up the cheat console and then fire an event that is. And where do I find the event number?

(I'm asking because I want to make some screen shots of a couple of events)

F12 brings up the console. Then you type "event xxx" (without the quotes), where xxx is the event's ID number.

To find the ID number, you will need to locate the event in the files. If you know what file the event is in, it should be straightforward (assuming the events are properly commented); otherwise, look up the title in localisation\English\events.csv and match the number in the key string to the event.

Thanks! (I should have figured the F12 part from my crusading days. "F12 die" when the court became too crowded.)

So if I want to make a fake event, without caring for the gameplay, I could just temporary change the text for some event with the right amount of alternatives and then fire it from the console...

Even better, keep the old event, copy paste its structure, change the event number and mod it to make a new event and keep the old one, a tip is to use event numbers like 990001 or something high like that, they're generally always free
