I've installed a new version of AoD from Steam (hoping it works perfect this time) but do not know how to install mods.

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
The best option is to copy the whole AoD directory inside the Steam directory to a new destination, verify this copy is working and install the mods into this backup directory.

Although when I look in the steam directory and AoD (and every other installed game) is an .ncf file and I don't know what to do.

I've found where the games are located, but after I have copied and pasted AoD, then done the same for a mod, when I load it up it comes up with an error straight away. (Application load error: 50000065434)
