You can research hospital techs to reduce the effects of attrition. Attrition is hardly a problem though, as long as you don't lose manpower in the winter.

The supply techs in the infantry section and the hospital techs in land doctrine reduce attrition, and logistics wizards and winter specialists also reduce attrition for the units they command. I'm not sure if jungle and desert rats also reduce attrition in their respective provinces. Troops stationed or fighting in jungle, frozen, arctic, or desert provinces suffer attrition.

attrition is nothing in Doomsday, you don't know attrition till playing Vitoria and loosing 10,000 men a month!

Attrition was the worst thing about EU2, I remember losing whole armies of tens of thousands after several months of a siege, it was almost impossible to win a war when your armies were halving every time you looked at them.

I loved attrition when playing as Russia. I could lure huge enemy army to besiege Moscow in the middle of winter, and when spring came they were ready to be wiped out.

In HOI, if attrition is really bothering you, the only way to avoid it is to not go to extreme climates (or jungles). Attrition is really only an issue if the unit is out of supply for an extended period. As others have mentioned though, the attrition rate is very small, and really not much of a factor.

HoI2 attrition is barely losing one or two manpower from the division in a week or month.

Eu2, I damn you:mad:

This is a big bump so sorry about that but doesn't infrastructure upgrades help tO?
