A mod that makes the mechbay such a better place.

No idea why it isn't working for you.

silly question....but are you trying to spin them by grabbing with mouse?

I'm trying to spin them by doing everything I can think of - left button grab, right button grab, center button grab, all buttons grab, left/right)center button plus control/alt/function/shift, arrow keys...

My question is simply this - is there a method beyond simply grabbing the mech with the cursor and spinning it?

Also, is there an installation method other than putting the MechSpin-master folder in the Mods folder? I think it was installed as part of XLRP, and the rest of that mod is working.

no you just put it in mods folder like everything else.
and then the mech with yang and the mech selected in the bays can be rotated via mouse.

no clue as to why its not working for you.

maybe go get it right from github and use that instead of one that came with XLRP
Mpstark mech spin

Any time I've ever had a mod not give any load error message but not work, it's been corrupt. Delete that one and drop in a fresh D/L and that might do it.

Apologies for the "is it plugged in?" treatment but I'm running out of other ideas to help you at this point. Are you clicking off to one side of the mech and dragging back toward the center of it?

If so, look in you .modtek folder for your ModTek log file and confirm that MechSpin is loading right, then look at your output.log file ( I think it's in battletech/data ) and search for [error or exception. Those log messages might give us some hints.

I've tried every mouse move I can think of, so I should have at least blundered into a flicker of movement by now.

What am I looking for? I found a output_log file in /Data, but no ModTek folder. Ctrl-F searches for MechSpin and Spin in output_log came up empty. Mech got a lot of hits, but nothing seemed applicable.

That output log file is the main log from the game, hang on to it, search it for [error] or exception. The ModTek log is from loading up your mods, it's in BT/Mods/.modtek, search it for spin. Both will get regenerated every time you run the game, so load it up, try to spin, and exit out and hopefully any errors that happened will be at the bottom of the output log.

Sounds like you somehow ended up with the mechspin source code instead of the compiled .dll. If I was allowed to I'd post a link for you.
