So, started playing 0.60 yesterday. First thing that struck me is that it will take me quite some time to understand the various tech trees. But I have a specific question regarding motorization; If I go the motorization route for INF, do all new INF get the bonuses/disadvantages that motorization brings, or can I still build separate divisions that are motorized and those that are not?

AFAIK motorization will make all of your INF move a little faster (among other things like using more fuel/supply and fighting worse in rough terrain). You don´t have to upgrade your units to get those benefits. However, this does not replace the MOT units.

Actually, if you go through all motorization techs, your INF units will be as fast as MOT units, reflecting what actually happened. By 1946, an INF will be in fact a MOT.
If you don´t want it, don´t research it.

With that in mind is it worth having separate MOT and INF? Having it as a series of techs, dependent on industry and of course on resources would seem to be a better reflection of the progressive adaptation of motorization for existing infantry formations.

With MOT you have a few specialized divs you may always use to their specification. If you basically mot all INFs you have a lot of fast divs but you may only use half of them and have to pay additional supply/oil costs for all.

Yep... Certainly the Germans took the approach to upgrade some of their INF to MOT units around 1940, for one, rather than upgrade them across the board. In 1946, obviously, it's a different ballgame. :)
