I can't figure quite figure out the interests part of the colonists yet.

Let's say I have a dome full of Alcoholic Geologists. That gives them a great demand for drinking.
I know they'll PREFER the bar, but what happens if I DON'T give them a bar to drink in and just give them a gym?
What happens when I DO give them a bar?

Does fulfilling specific interests (or not) have any impact on their psyche or comfort? Is it higher when specific desires are fulfilled?

Anyone with any insights?

Each day colonists will chose one of their interest based on their traits. They try to visit a service building that corresponds to that interest and increase their comfort based on that building's service comfort. If they fail to visit a building (no building or all visit slots are already taken) colonists will instead lose some comfort.

Thanks for responding Boyan! That’s useful information! They’ll pick one of their interests a day and I didn’t know that yet. Otherwise though, the very careful language that you use, still means that my question has been somewhat avoided. ;-)

Let me put it this way: They’ll pick one of their interests and TRY to fulfill it by visiting the associated building.

But will they visit any other building if that one is unavailable? Will they base the interest they picked on what is available?

If they fail to visit a building (no building or all visit slots are taken) they lose comfort.

Is “a building”, ANY building, just the building they picked for their daily interest, or any of the three interests they have should their daily pick be non-existent, or full.

I’d still like to know this if you care to comment, but regardless, I think you’ve given me enough information now to run experiments and find out for myself. Thanks!
