As the title says, I’m very curious about this.

From what we know it sounds like we will essentially have (in some form or another)
- retinues
- lifestyles
- heresies
- tribes
- playable Muslims, Indians, pagans
- conclave-style council?

notable unknowns:
- great works (wonders)
- personal treasury
- plagues
- societies
- Off-map China
- Silk Road
- college of cardinals
- pagan reformations
- viceroyalties

Known absences:
- Steppe hordes
- Merchant Republics
- Fantasy

Please update me if you know more or if I am mistaken anywhere, and please let me know if I missed anything.

Merchant republics are also confirmed to not be in at release, so you can put them in known absences.

Updated! Thank you. That one is a real shame. If they designed the game for republics from the start then it might have signaled naval combat this time. I’m still hoping for navies, but now not as confident we’ll see them.

What about Horses and Bears?

This is what I was worried about on release. If too many features are left out at release (looking at you Imperator), I will not be purchasing CK3 for some time. CK2 is pretty solid with the DLC that I have already purchased. I am wanting most of that content to be included in CK3 from the start, instead of just resold to me as DLC with prettier graphics.

What I am interested in is how CK3 base-game distinguishes itself from CK2. I'd love to have the ability to play as lower-ranking nobles (barons, landed knights, or even unlanded-nobles), or to play as religious/knightly orders with their own style of inheritance/government (I would expect this as DLC if anything).
