I have an LAN in my house with three machines all linked. I want to play multiplayer games of EU, how many copies of the game do i need? Other games that need a CD to play ie civ call to power will still let upto three people play multi player with only 1 CD.

I beleive legally you are required to have 1 copy per PC.
The game will not start without the CD. There appears to be no multi-player spawn option. However since you are on a local LAN you can try this. Once the first computer is into the game and selected as host, remove the CD and start the next computer. The game only requires the CD at startup & for the music. I have tested this by letting 2 computers run for about 50 yrs, as I am also trying to talk friends into trying the game.

Should I have left my morals at the door?

Well, I don't generally advocate "piracy", but I can't claim to be innocent of it either, and in some cases have used a "copy" of someone elses program. That aside, I would put forth that it is, in my experience, really hard to get a group together that actually has this game long enough to play a good game. I believe that if you find something usefull you should give due credit to the ones that made it. I love this game, I own this game and do not regret the money spent, although I do hold a grudge for all the time spent trying to successfully take over the world :).

My point, if you have the chance to get enough people together who want to play this game and have not gone out and purchased it, you might concider making copies of the CD. Enter the moral delima. Its wrong to pirate software, lots do, but that dosn't make it right. But I might be willing to forget my morals if it meant a good weekend spent conquering the world with friends. And once your pals are hooked, they can go out and buy the game. I think they will see that the 30+ bucks is well worth it.
