Managed to figure out how to create machine-nanite hybrid worlds. This should work also with ecumenopoli and/or gaia worlds.

Machine worlds cannot be subsumed and nanite worlds cannot be terraformed.

What you need:

1.)nanite ascension
2.)machine world AP
3.)pause button so not recommended for MP.
4.)attention

steps:

1.)start terraform into machine world. When planet is close to finish terraforming, subsume it

This wil lstart a situation.

Then planet will become machine world with subsume world situation affecting it. Planet will proceed then to create nanite deposits.
Situation works in a way that once situation finishes, it will turn world into nanite world. this includes even machine worlds as well (machine to nanite). Not sure if also ecumenopolis is turned but I believe yes.

Then when situation is close to finish (roughly 300-400 days before finish) my experience is that no more nanite deposits will be created. It costs 1000 flat unity to cancel subsume world situation.

So cancel the situation for the cost just before it finishes and enjoy machine worlds with nanite deposits:

But why Nanite world deposits are garbage, and you can just use the starbase building to produce far far far far far more nanites than you could ever produce on a nanite world

The Subsume World situation gives you something like 100 nanites per month per planet while it's running, which is how you afford nanite edicts and swarmers in the decades it takes your nanite harvesters to grow deposits large enough to be relevant. You just never want to let the situation complete on planets you intend to put (most) jobs on, since nanite worlds are just kinda worse than regular ones for everything except mining and alloys, and worse than machine worlds for alloys.
