How to edit a save game

Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice from people who know about the game's internals. My ironman career mode save has hit a snag where the game has deleted one of my Mechs. I'm hoping there is a way to fix this by editing either my .sav file or something else.

Is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

I'm looking to add a Blackjack to the (currently empty) leftmost bay of Mechbay Hangar 1. All other bays are filled and I haven't unlocked Hangars 2 or 3. The loadout of the Blackjack was as in this screenshot, but I also later added a comm relay to the head giving +2 resolve.

If you can't edit the save, you could.make the price of a whole BJ-1 a single Cbill and then edit the ammo item collection to add the chance of BJ-1 and weight it super heavy. This would make it so the next place you travel to pops one in the market for 1 Cbill.

Yeah, after some googling it seems that the saves are in a binary format and can't be easily edited without some sort of app designed for the purpose. I guess creating a blackjack variant with the loadout I'm missing with a price of 1 Cbill and a high chance of being in a store is a good option. Guess I need to read up on which .jsons to edit!
