These are my experiences for having a stable MP game. They are not representative, and might not be true.

- The host should have 128 kBit upstream per player for speed 'below normal' (in a 5 player game that would mean a 4*128kBit = 512 kBit upstream)

- No puppeting nations

- No bombing

Following this, I had 6 hours of gameplay without as single crash. It was only a 1v1. Maybe that helps, too.

I agree with you that you can play better if you are fewer players, have faster internet connections and avoid the bomber-bug.
But what's the point with "no puppeting nations"? Does this cause slow-downs or CTDs?

each person makes a big difference though.
(ahhh more work! back to schooling.)

LIES!!! You crashed that last time when hosting 8 with broadband :/

but the point is I play lagless. Of course my ISP realizes I am playing and they clip me until I stop, but if it wasn't for me crashing no one else ever crashes or lags.

ur not making sense with ur upstream calculations cause a typical cable modem gets 140 up

What does the typical upstream of a cable modem has to do with my calulation?
