How to join a multiplayer game?

I played EU1 for a while now, but just purchased EU2 and id like to play online with it, with other players!

But theres a problem...

I have no idea, about how to join an multiplayergame of EU2...
Please help can i just reply to a thread like: hello i want to join.. or something else?

In general: add some people to your ICQ list, and introduce yourself in the threads.
