Hello,

I’m trying to locate Surviving Mars’s information on its modding tools. I just want to know the basic information such as if the engines custom or something like Unity since I believe it is actual text coding. But I‘m learning Unreal in class, atleast the basics. Before that we learned p5Play, a library for p5js which is just Java script, I’m definitely an amateur. I‘d want to make custom models on blender, give them textures. That‘s the extent of my ambition. I don’t see a major update coming any time for this game, so I figure I have a lot of time to learn and make some unique elements.

I had a question if it’s possible to give additional attributes/behaviors to the RC Safari specifically, the ability to add an icon to its little menu and give it and additional action/interactivity with domes/colonists and rockets — use it as a slow transport for the very beginning of the game, like say if a dome is too far and trains are too expensive and haven‘t researched shuttles, personally using the rockets as hub just doesn’t seem very intuitive to me, especially at the beginning.

I also wanted to make some simple eye-candy exterior decorations, I want to give it an additional skin. That’ll probably be less technical to do right? What tools do you use for modeling and textures?

That’s all, I appreciate any information/enlightenment.
