Open up the .eug file in your scenario folder such as 1066_scenario.eug:

In the header part we have a bunch of info and the country tags or things or whatever u call them :p
NUBI = {
gender = male
type = kingdom
dna = "37791783884043"
title = { NUBI C792 C793 }
}

Well to play as a muslim kingdom get the tag name and just add another tag. For example i did,
ABBA = {
type = kingdom
}

And voila, playing as muslims. Gotta put in the type = whatever, otherwise ur name shows up in count list. The dna and the titles didn't seem to matter. That is they showup in the selection screen but once in game playing as abbasid.

The gameplay seems to be the same as with cristian kingdoms, you're just more powerful.

My copy hasn't arrived yet, but I really hope this works for pagans too. That would just be too much fun, especially transfering the game into EU2 and colonizing the New World for the glory of Odin. ;)

Do they really get better techs?

On the other hand I guess they don't get these annoing "crusade expectations" :rolleyes:
They get better techs and no expectations but, there is a massive downside.So far, in my game as the king of the Fatimids I have been unable to create any titles!Even ones I should be able to, I can't even grant any titles, to anyone at all!So the muslims are only half playable.

I started one game where my custom-designed Count of Lancaster was a pagan instead of a catholic. I could only declare war or send assassins to other christians, but I could try to marry ladies from other pagan kingdoms. The Chiefdom of Lancaster did not do so well :D

And the DNA sequence in the .eug file only effects the portrait in the setup screen (see my DNA post for some insights on what the numbers mean).

Why in all the world did you want to play a pagan Lancaster?

Masochist? :confused:

:rolleyes:

Kinda fun, took all of Italy as that Bagdad dude! :D Unfortunatly, I am unable to create titles playing as a muslim.

So can we create a mod where all muslim kingdoms are playable except for creating titles? And is there a way where we can mod to make muslims create titles as well?

renaming then switching religion.

I wish Paradox would make a small feature in a future patch that would allow us modders to change that easier, so we can make a Muslim Nations Mod.

Currently, it is still possible as you have suggested but painful. After all, although not a vis-a-vis Christian feudal system, muslim Sheikdoms, Emirates and Sulanates were pretty much similar in creating and granting titles. And there was a muslim nobility of some sort.

[The only striking difference between a muslim and a christian state is the role of the church (mosque). Since the Islamic institutions did not own vast territores, nor they collected taxes. And women did not take hold any titles.]

So if we manage to keep muslim women away from office, there wouldn't be a major problem in such a mod.
