How to reclaim nights watch from wildlings and return the land to the nights watch

So I'm playing as the Boltons, the most powerful vassal under the lord powermount of the north. The night's watch came under attack from the king beyond the wall and I was the only one in the north who sent their armies up to aid the watch. We outnumbered the wildlings almost 2 to 1. In battle the lord of the Dreadfort (my guy) was killed and they captured the lord commander of the watch and won the war.

How can I wage war against them and restore the land to the night's watch. I have no casus belli and even if I fabricate claims and take pieces of land, I can't seem to be able to give it to the night's watch.

Also the night's watch still exist and the location points to castle black even if it's owned and ruled by the wildlings.
