I tried to accelerate the time in the demo with "+", but it won't work. All that happens is that the save game menu pops up. I tried it both on a laptop and a desktop and coulnd't find the correct key.

Well, it worked for me (german keyboard + german keyboard setup), the "+" (+*~)-key left to the "Return"-key.
Maybe try switching to an US keyboard setup when playing the demo, it might help (of course you then have to know which key is at which place after switching...)

On the US, it's the +/= key, but you don't hold the shift or anything like that, just hit the key. Also, it does not work if there is any firing on the entire battlefield. It is only for startup.
