So, after a SERIOUS civil war the HRE (King of Germany,Italy and Burgundy) got totally destroyed ! This isn't strange really, the HRE usually breaks up and the von Franken's often lose some King titles. but NOW the HRE got conquered by some bishopric, and it turned into a uberarchbishopkingdomric. Yes, a uberarchbishopkingdomric !

Notice the game doesn't even know how to call it anymore, it just says Germany. It lost a lot of vassals too, to the Kingdom of Burgundy - which also split of from the HRE-.

I've been playing a game for a long time as King of the Rus where the Von Frankens lost the kingdom due to Henry IV's heresy in 1084. It's now almost 1348 and still no one has been able to reclaim the Kingdom. One came very close recently...but lost it to R/D. Seems to be a curse.

I look at this and I have to wonder: if Germany were ruled by a person who was an archbishop, would that not make him "pope" of Germany, or "Cardinal"? At least according to the way the game has feudal hierarchies arranged.
