HSR add-on demo A mod not only for HSR!...

Hello!
Maybe someone would like to help this peolple to enhence the HSR-Mod with this Add-on?
These guys behind the poster dt918 seem very capable in modding very fast. And all you have to do is to playtest, suggest what you want, and report back.

First post from dt918 over at HSR Forum:

As we were asked to here are a few remarks about our first small add-on for HSR.

Still waiting for Mister Aregorn´s reply last week two of us starting coding some upgrade events.
They will give players the chance to buy a lot of blueprints and to spend resources on additional programmes to strengthen the industry.
At first everything will be in one additional file only and no changes in any HSR code line will be made.
So only two or maybe three files will have to be added to any HSR installation.
Once some new model is researched you get some more chances to further modify some standard unit type with better engines, guns and armor for example.
Also some developments will lead to special (experimental) types of units simulated by events again.
The main part will be compatible with other mods too and the few events (like Malta for example) building upon existing HSR events will be mentioned.
The coders first impressions so far were:
The parser is not very helpful in debugging.
The "AI" does not deserve to be called like that.
Any balancing should be left to beta testers and players.
Some standard settings look not reasonable (stack limits, tech team limitations, brigade combination possibilities).
For example the bundling of tech teams into conglomerates was cancelled at first as it seems to take some more changes than planned.
So nobody should expect too much from the first demo as it will still be nothing more than some 500+ KB of new code lines added to HSR.
After all it will be just a first "test" of how some changes would be received in here...
Any comments, questions or wishes from anyone reading this so far?

NOW BEFORE POSTING ANY QUESTIONS LOOK INTO HERE

ATTENTION!!!
THIS VERSION IS STILL PREALPHA AND RATHER FOR PLAYTESTING THAN FOR PLAYING.
RIGHT NOW ONLY GERMANY HAS BEEN PARTIALLY DONE.
IF YOU EXPECT SOME FINISHED MOD YOU HAVE TO WAIT SOME MORE MONTHS.
CONTRIBUTIONS AND TRUE FEEDBACK ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

Here is another post from dt918 for volunteers and testers:
----------------------------------------
Just to avoid any misunderstandings:
Whoever wants to contribute to this addon is welcome.
There is no such thing as "qualification" so please stay at what you really know and can do.
We do not care at all who you are and what you really have done so far or claim to have done.
Here all that counts is what you can do in helping to improve HSR.
You do not need to know coding at all.
But you should at least be able to write down your thoughts in an understandable way.
That is the minimum and everybody here can surely do this.
If some of you have more skills and may be able to code events or even do some changes to the exe this is also highly welcome.
It will surely save us time that can be spent on coding and testing.

Hello, just a "bump"..

Progress is going fine. MANY new events...
They start now even to add new techs.
First is Germany done and than used as a dummy for all other countrys.
To some who had "trouble" with some disliked events of HSR, there are and will be override events.. And I guess we can manage the flag/signs questions as well..

Would be fine if more people would give it a try and feedback.
If you don't like to get an account at over at the HSR forum, post here, I'll direct your messages to them.

what new tech's.I must of missed something?

Hi!
The add-on for HSR will be really BIG.
These people work now even on the tech-tree.
They stated they wan't stop until the tree is filled with techs.
Also the many new events for the techs gives you the chance to have very special weapons/tanks/planes/ships..
They have a "game"(Simulation) for military training and try to put as much as possible from stuff they have in their "version" into HOI.
They are really open minded and you have a chance that any of your own ideas make it in this add-on if possible.
What it makes even better is, that many changes will be optional if wished by the community.
All they really need is FEEDBACK.. ;)

Grretings!

Hi!

I downloadad it and played as intended (with Germany) but I belive that Germany is way to overpowered until they have done they same with SU, France etc. Right now, it made Germany way to easy. But one should note that I played on normal/normal. :)

But it sure flavoured the game and it was great that you could choose not to have ceratin events that I earlier disliked with HSR.

Say thanks from me!

You are welcome at the Stoneyroad everytime to post your experiences with the add-on there. The modders are very open minded and appreciate any kind of input.
ATM Germany is vastly overpowered, that`s right, but they decided to do Germany first,as a blueprint, which will make it easier and faster to modify the other nations.
If you played HSR and disliked some or most aspects tell it to the dt-modders and they will most likely write an overwrite for it.

As said before, Germany is incredibly overpowered. I'm glad to see that will be changed, though.

Furthermore, it seems like AI research priorities are broken... All the other majors seem to be researching stuff like sattelites, napalm, unmanned recon aircrafts etc. in 1936, so they will probably be majorly handicapped in the long run, since these techs will probably take them a year or so to research.
Also, what is this flying saucers stuff?

Yet, this add-on have quite some potential, if the bugs are ironed out and things get balanced. Good luck with that!

Hi,
AI research is not broken. :)
The new stuff just isn't implented yet into the AI-research.

Releasees of new add-on versions:
As for now, it is more like you got an update early as possible to see how the progress is going. And could test of course.

The whole Add-on is called in an PRE-ALPHA-stage...

But playtesting with Germany can give you a first feel of were this thing is going to...

And after the other Nations have their events to, there will be no more overpowerd Germany.
But only very different coutrys to play with.

About the flying saucers:
That are some of the German "Wunderwaffen" being in development by the Reich and a secret soceity called "VRIL-Gesellschaft".
Very strange stuff on the first view. You can search the net for information.
It is highly doubted by many, but research will maybe lead you even to Rosswell, hidden bases in antartica etc..
Just make up your own mind.

I know its kind of premature, but just alittle gameplay comment. Playing as GER, i encircle Moscow early in July '41. I am giving them some time to die out as usual, but they dont!Meanwhile, through events, more divs pile in Moscow. By March 42, i have about 250 of their divs encircled, but they are all fully supplied, just like all other soviet units beyond my front line! The capital is still in Moscow, so shouldnt one of two chunks of divs be out of supply?
And another thing. This secret weapon stuff is real nice and all, but it should be connected to either chronology or previous inentions. It shouldnt be available almost right from the start. In my game, Italy tries to invent Napalm and Satelites since '39.Its now March 42 and they arent even at 40%! Thats really destroying their research possibilities. Please do lock them until much later.I mean, satelites in '39?
Thanks.
