Hungary vassalized without been noticed, is it intended?

so im playing Hungary, vassalized croatia and moldavia, Janos as king, allied to France and Brandenburg, seems everything went so well?

NO!

all of sudden within a day! I became vassal of Austria, not single event notification, no way to fight, Croatia gets immidiately merged into my territory


is there even a way to fight this ?

There is an event wich allows you to bring own ruler instead of being PUd by Austria. Anyway, it is not so bad to be under PU.

What happened is that your ruler was janos, but your heir is habsburger Ladislaus. Then Ladislaus Postumus dies and you must have chosen German king instead of Matthias.

Don't worry, PU under Austria is a good thing
A player does not need 50+ liberty desire to get support for independence. Just ask Ottomans, France and whoever rivaled Austria to support you, and not only you would be independent again, but will stay with strong alliances afterwards.

(BTW one of my strategies to survive as Serbia is to be PUd by Austria or anyone strong )

but there was no event for me to choose, it all happened automatically, plus if I go war for independent i lost hunyad dynasty, which i intend to keep
