Summary

Hybridizing Culture Converted Huge Amount of Territory Outside Personal Realm

Description

While playing in the duchy of Crete, I hybridized my personal culture, Cretan, which only existed in a single county in the world, with Greek. Somehow, about half of Byzantium took upon this new culture.

This seems different from how cultural hybiridization worked in the past, in that it seemed to stay confined to my personal domain. I don't know if this is working as intended, or new behavior.

What is most assuredly a bug is that the new cultural head (because I as a small-time duke got pushed out of the new culture) cancelled a tradition reform and implemented their own. This should have been impossible, as the decision should have been on cooldown.

Steps to reproduce

Hybridize a culture with your lieges culture in a large realm?

Secondarily, start a cultural reform before the new culture head takes over. In my case it got switched from Warriors by Merit to Seafarers.

It has always been possible for a new divergent or hybrid culture to spread within the top realm of the founder. If you were independent, then it would have stayed in your land.
