... but I need help to confirm it.

After desperately trying to get the same checksum as my friend for 6 hours, I reached the conclusion that the issue was not from me, directly.

I believe somehow, my mod has not the same checksum on linux than on windows. While it should not happen usually, it did happen in the past for other paradox games.

Just to confirm a few things, I uninstalled vic3, deleted every remnant paradox file (/Paradox Interactive/ and ~/.paradoxlauncher/), deleted the mod, download everything again. 4 times.

But this gives me the same checksum, every single time.

So, just to confirm that the issue does not come from me, could anybody that play on linux help me ?

To help me, if you play on linux, could you please download this MOD and give me your checksum (with nothing else than this mod ofcourse) ?

This would help me so much, I just want to be able to play mp games on the mod I've made with my friends.

It's likely a capitalization issue within the mod file/folder names.
I've seen this happen before with Linux vs. Windows in other paradox game mods. Basically, I think Windows is "case-insensitive" when reading file and folder names, while Linux is "case-sensitive", and thus a mod which overwrites vanilla files (but with different file name capitalization) may work on Windows but not on Linux, or at least give different checksums.

It seems you're right, and the checksum calculation depends on the operating system.

However, I found a solution: if you run the game in compatibility mode with Proton on Linux, the checksum appears to be correct.
