What on earth did you guys do. I wasn't inclined to buy a subscription, but it is pretty messed up that the advert for the subscription is blocking my access to the game I already bought.

I haven't seen other such reports. Is it perhaps a resolution issue, are you running at a low one like 1024x7678, something like that?

Nope, not a resolution issue. My laptop is 1920x1080.
I did manage to bypass the issue. I had to launch a "Resume" game, not new game. When I did, the advert became closable. Why that should be so, I have not a clue.
Also, to be clear -- a screen shot won't tell you anything because it simply wouldn't let me hit the "Read More" or "Close" buttons. When I loaded up a "Resume" game, it let me. When I tried to start a "New Game" from the launcher it didn't let me. But, the screen looked the same in both cases.
