I can't get supplied

HELP!
Every time I play HoI Doomsday as either the UK or USA the game grinds to a disappointing halt. This is always after I have launched my DDay style invasion to liberate France. For the first week or so everything goes great and I drive the Axis back, but then all my units are covered in a red rash as they are out of supply and fuel.
How do I resupply. My convoy system is on automatic and is supplying me fine in the Pacific theatre. I have plenty of transports and escorts and am losing nothing to subs. I am awash with oil and supplies at home. I have thought about manually creating a convoy from New York to L'Orient but the game won't let me. Is it something to do with the fact that all the territory I have taken, including L'Orient is UK controlled, UK being an ally over which I have military control but whose supply arrangements I can't control. But same thing happened when I played UK. Is it a bug? Is there a patch? Is it me?
 
Is UK out of transports or oil/supplies? Or are you or some other non-UK ally of yours controlling the province your troops are in? Troops are always supplied by the nation that controls the province. So if you 'get' a land locked province surrounded by your allies you are not able to supply it. If one of those is not the problem then I don't have a clue.

Thanks for that. I'm US and UK is my ally. Yes, they do control the French provinces. Is there any way I can get control off them? I wondered if they might be out of oil supplies so I made them a huge gift of some. As to whether they have enough transports - how can I check this out and get them some more if they are low?
 
No, there isn't really a way to get control of the French provinces from UK. Atleast not before Germany gets annexed. I would imagine that France can claim them from UK but you as US can not. You should have made the initial landing with your own troops.
You can reload your save game as UK and see if they have enough transports. But I'm afraid there is no way for you to give them more. These are some known old gameplay flaws.

He did that already. Not really use if they don't have transports.
