I downgraded ck2 to play this game, been playing at the earliest start as aegon the conquerer. It was going well but about 10 years in the game crashed. Every time I try to load a save the game crashes with a ck2 has stopped working message. Is there anything I can do?

Do you have the republic DLC ? I had an issue where the Republic DLC kept trying to show all the playable republics, and after I had a save game crash I couldn't select my own character and the game would crash trying to click on the savegame. I restarted with the Republic disabled and it has gone away for me.
