I cant seem to research any unit designs besides older ones.

I am well ahead of all the other countries in research (including military).

The highest unit i can research a design for is the IOF-2 . No other infantry are listed at this point that are better. The IOF-2 requires armour level VI, and I have armor level VII. Still havent seen a newer infantry unit nor tank.

(my tank is a PT-85 and is terrible).

I am playing as north vietnam. I realize that there arent going to be unit specific to it and i'll have to research worldwide units, but i havent been able to in awhile and my forces are getting crushed by my enemies who are at a much lower tech level than I am.

What you can research is affected by what region you play as.

Buy designs of the USSR or China in diplomacy, researching is pretty pointless for 'barbarian' states

i did register my game it was just hidden i guess.

I'm much more advanced than china or russia at this point. Buying designs off them would be a major downgrade. Are there any mods out there anyone knows of that increase the amount of available units to tiny counties?
