I was wishing i could create a mod but a brief look at what it takes and that's a no.. Anyway if I could I would create a Building called a "Trucking Company" where I can click on it and specifies where the truck asset I choose goes to work, what color he is to easily identify it in game. I would create a drop-down box similar to the selections you see in our warehouses, Ore, Oil, Forest, and Farming which would be enabled in options as "easy" and a defined list if easy isn't selected, now I can select that particular trucking company to become a service company for example "Farming" to pickup raw materials and deliver them directly to the processing building i choose and on trip 2, 3 4 etc. different locations I want serviced, maybe a Commercial location "That doesn't have enough Goods". I would do this using a tool similar to the bus stop tool, I would want a budget or some way that influences how long this would happen, one trip 5 10 trips etc. Please Give us control of trucking. here is an example using freight trains. On your map you might have 4 outside connections and those are connected to you industries, they export your raw materials and your commercial goods and service your intercity industries unless you only give them access to warehouse type buildings and you create for your city a freight track that works through a particular production line like the car Factory, these trains have no connection to the outside world and exporting is in my control when I reconnect the track that goes to my port. I'm think a control would be needed to reduce the amount of CIM trucks spawning to make way for the amount I'm controlling.
I think that players that have built beautiful cities can revisit them and add a trucking companies to each one of there Industries and now have a new type of strategy to use
