I'm continually losing authority, generally in the range of hundreds of authority a month. It never goes negative, but I can't keep authority about 10. I'm supposed to be netting 6 authority a month. Empress of the Imperium Francorum, Queen of Francia, L'Eglise Onctionese de France. It was the same with my character's father, as well. Any ideas how to solve this?

as I noted in the cover events, a lot of actions cost authority, including ending plots. Auto-ending plots is a sure way to run out of authority...

Yeah, we might want to have a sticky thread at the top of the sub-forum that just highlights those things that might not be obvious (especially when people, ahem, fail to properly read the startup events!) It might save us some of the inevitable "Why is this happening" posts. Although I might add that the wordplay in the startup events can muddle the message a bit :) Not that I would ever expect the extraordinarily expressive, amazingly alliterative, Riknap the Regent to actually ease up on that, haha.

For anyone else looking to change how this works - you can use Notepad++ (search it on Google) to edit a file called defines.lua in the mod's folder (it's in the "common" folder) - be careful about mucking about, and save a backup of the file in case you make a mistake, but you can change back the diplomacy actions cost back to nothing, or to whatever you want. In fact, you can edit quite a bit about how the mod works by changing things in the defines.lua. If you do this then don't make bug reports when something messes up, 'cause it won't help anyone.

Also, as an aside - although I have resigned myself to be a minority on the issue of diplomacy action costs - I think it might behoove the regency team to remove the "Landed Estates" minor title option, considering looking at it will cost the player some money even if they decide not to award the estates. Seems like a punishment for not being aware of what the option actually entails.
