I loved everything I read and heard so far about vic 3. I have complete confidence that it will be a great sequel. However, I must express my only disappointment, which is that the starting point is still in 1836. I think it is a great missed opportunity to simulate the independence of Latin America.

Mods should fix that.

They definitely go, I can't wait for the new concert of Europe, and I hope I can help with Brazilian history of independence.

I really don't care for an alternate start date, maybe a Great War start date would be fun, but I have full confidence that it is going to be modded soon after release.

I don't think so they will change their development program for your request. If they do it, then it's good but I don't think so. Probably some modders will do that.

think about this the other way around - instead, convince paradox to make a game covering the 1770-1836 period! there's a lot going on in there (american revolution, napoleon, the stuff you said) that you can put a lot into it. none of it can really be easily simulated using EU4 mechanics or (it sounds like) V3 mechanics.

I don't even think they should do that. I'm just a player who loves the franchise very much. I do not know the challenges they face in putting this game on its feet, even though I know a little about programming and game design.

The most I hope is to share my concern with the community and know what they think about it too. And if the devs read, even if it is not to meet my demand, I will still be happy to be read.

I don't know if such a short game would be viable. But really, thinking about these processes they are a very atypical and violent transition phase. But from what they have already shown, the victoria model seems more plausible to demonstrate these changes.

perhaps with the new system of civil war and revolution this is feasible.

They can do it easily. Because mechanics are ready and there is not any big difference beetwen 1794 and 1836. But I think it will make game longer and unstable. More year means more units and more work for processor. Also I love era beetwen 1880-1936 and current situation is good for me.

I don't know if it's that easy, precisely because of the points you raised. But from what I remember in the Vic 2 conversations, they chose the 1836 date because it was more stable, and because making a new start was very complicated due to demographic data.
