I/O error

Hi, im obviously new here.

i had an issue with my HOI disk that said something on the lines of an I/O error and a bad corrupt file or something. Does anyone know what this is? any help would be much appreiciated

Can I get some more info, like when do you get this error?
When you try and install, or when you try and load the game, or when you are playing the game?

Ah Sorry..ok..
It's during installation. When it gets to installing an mp3 file it just has the Error msg pop up. Than It says abort or retry, and when I retry it has the same msg pop up. I'm running windows XP p3 nvidia geforece 2..
