5-10 seconds after loading to the main menu the game quits and gives me an error report

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
It is my first time playing the game, I can go do anything for about 10 seconds after loading to the main menu then every time the game quits and I get asked if I would like to send a description of the problem to paradox.
