Hi,

After few discussion with other members ( @@Rom2BE) and research, it appears that right after a crash like the ones we are talking about, when we compare the war.log and the game.log (in folder Paradox/Imperator/log), we realised that it's always related to rebellion's end, annexion of the last territory of a rebellion or something like that.
I personally tried three times : two times with two of my games (crashing just after a rebellion somewhere desseapper) and the third was with a saved game from another player, posted on the forum, crashing after a rebellion problem (according to the war.log and game.log).

I put attached the saved-game in question. Maybe the crash that happens, very soon in the game (always few years, around 450-458), is somehow liked to the "extension of a rebellion"...

Does other player with the same problem could check there war.log and game.log and compare if the last events of each of them are similar?
Are Paradox devs could have a look to know if we go in the right direction ?

This is a problem with the current patch 1.4.2 on Macs, I'm afraid!

It should be fixed in the next patch 1.5.0 . We don't have a release date for that yet but I expect it to be in June some time.

My apologies for that!

Are you still seeing random crashes on Macs in new campaigns started under 1.5 ?

I haven’t really played for long enough. I have a couple of days off so will likely get a decent game in over the next few days and will report back.

Did the fix you mentioned in your previous post to this thread get released in the patch?

It was working perfect about couple of hours into the game, it crashed again on Catalina. Just Like before! Please fix the problem... haven't been able to play this game this entire lockdown and I am feeling quite skeptical about making future purchases of paradox games.

Yeah I had a play for a bit and then it crashed again. I've attached the contents of the logs dir, along with the save file.

I wasn't able to attach this as a tarball so I've had to indiviudally upload the files.

I wasn't doing anything specific when the crash occured.

Hi,

I didn't played long enough to tell you about this specific crash, I will tell you.
BUT I can tell for now that the game is still sooooo slow, freezing all the time when expanding a bit my kingdom or the amount of units on the screen, zooming in and out, speed 4 or 5 are just like speed 3 ... My computer is really over the tech recommandation, and I do not understand how/why it is not yet a bit more fluid... Is there a way that I do or send you anything (datas log and saves?) to help you finding a solution for that?

Best, F

Exactly the same for me here. 2 hours into the game and it crashed again. I agree with florian-fl about the slow speed of the game. I'm playing on the heaviest MacBook Pro 16' from 2019, and overall don't have any issues with any other Paradox games. Bought this game on release, and still haven't been able to play any longer than 12 hours... Pretty shameful to be fair... Better not have the same issues on my pre-ordered CK3 copy...

Yeah I’d agree the experience is choppy and not smooth in the slightest. Also there doesn’t seem to be much difference between speed 4 and 5. I know this is generally cpu bound and I only have an i5 but it’s drastically slower than it was before.

This is an unrelated issue to the one discussed in this thread - can i ask you to break it out into a separate thread please? Thanks.

Same issue here, see the following game log tails:

crash #1

[15:33:50][country.cpp:14523]: [Atavia] Married Bindusara Bahlika (Bahlika) with Sanghamitta Bahlika (Bahlika)
[15:38:37][country.cpp:4333]: 591(Bithynian Revolt) stopped existing; Bithynia has taken the last owned provinces.

[15:45:46][country_manager.cpp:181]: Created country with id 593 tag: A35 (Reason: Civil War)
[15:46:41][country.cpp:4333]: 459(Ashmaka) stopped existing; Andhra has taken the last owned provinces.

crash #2 upon reload

[16:52:01][jomini_eventmanager.cpp:354]: Events loaded events/religion_flavor/rel_flavor_thracian.txt' #5
[16:52:01][jomini_eventmanager.cpp:331]: >=== NAMESPACE > 'rel_flavor_zoro' is set to #2640000
[16:52:01][jomini_eventmanager.cpp:354]: Events loaded events/religion_flavor/rel_flavor_zoro.txt' #5
[16:52:01][jomini_eventmanager.cpp:295]: >>> Total of : 2337
[16:52:01][onaction.cpp:306]: >>> Total of : 327 actions found in 'common/on_action'.
[17:06:01][country.cpp:4333]: 459(Ashmaka) stopped existing; Andhra has taken the last owned provinces.

I figured out the likely day to expect the crash and have a save game for the day before. See above.

so.. yes it crash again after a few years in game.
Having a look to war.log and game.log shows that, the last event at the moment of the crash is the annexation of the last province of a rebellion.
Here after the .log and the save game if it can help.

Sad, I had pretty well started my Sparta campaign...

I had one report that 1.5.1 fixed their crash on a Mac - you folks are all still seeing that? Same crash as under 1.4.x amd 1.5 ?
