Hi,

I received the game from a friend.

I started the tutorial but many things felt "off"; like the tutorial says i will be able to check the objectives with a button on the left side of the screen... button is on the middle but right side of the top of the screen, or another objective asking me to "recruit" "cohorts"... which were "recruited" by "mobilizing" them in another menu since the objective hints were all useless (or I didn't see the thing the hint told me to see...).

So before going on with it tomorrow or another day, I'd like to know if the tutorial is up to date to the game or not.

If not, I'd rather do a EU4/CK3 introductory playthroughs style rather than fight a bad tutorial.
(If useful, I play in french.)

Thank you for answer.

Well the game isnt that hard so you dont need the tutorial anyway

but yes the tutorial is not up to date and its still bugged it will probably never fixed

Nope, ignore the tutorial.

Rome is to I:R as the Ottomans are to EU4 (as you've probably guessed), so they're probably the best starting run. Ignore the Generic Missions ("Matter of Italia" and "Pearl of Italia" / "Growth of Italia" / "Stabilize and Grow Italia") and use Rome's special missions to guide expansion, provide plenty of CBs, and get some nation-specific flavor.

I would strongly recommend against one of the Diadochi or Maurya as a first playthrough - they have some unique things going on that make the early game more complex and the Maurya have a debuff to expansion, so they're less good for getting to know the game.

Other than that... welcome to the game! With development stopped the forum's a pretty quiet place, but there's some regulars around who are happy to answer questions (and occasionally try to sell you on their respective mods).

I want to disagree with the Diadochi thing a little. Egypt is imo just as easy if not easier than Rome. DIfference is that the introduction to mechanics is not as gradual, but you can afford more mistakes before suffering.

A tutorial ? Why not a manual while you are at it ? ;):D

The lack of them (or lack of content or updates), especially in various languages has been pointed out since years, with no effect, unfortunately. The players/customers are supposed to deal with the forum and various wikis.

If you think the english tutorial is bad just try the spanish translation. Horrible translation plus missing chunks of text.

I fixed it in an afternoon editing some files. Lazy Paradox, very lazy...
