and Germany is very very strong...I had huge IC pre-conquests and went for Poland AND France in 1939, launching a super-early barbarossa in 1940.France was easy, USSR was easy. By september 1941,I had reached Archangelsk and reduced most of the remaining red army to a large unsupplied pocket around leningrad, after waging a mobile defence with high division turnaround against Soviet counter offensive in the north.
My divs which included 20 armor and 30 motorized ata the start of the attack from the huge IC, now number in August 41 28 armor and 45 motorized+eng...that's 25 Panzer Korps.I took the full naval plan option and SS options draining my supplies, but built no subs apart from those in plan and bismarck and tirpitz are very late and not yet built.
I appreciate that english beaches are well guarded by a 1 armored each. I can do a 3 paras drop and a 3 divs landing but i've got no marines.
However I think that Germany has way too much IC in this mod. Even before grabbing most of the SU (Bitter Peace didn't fire) I had 500 effective...Now I have 690 facing rare restriction and very few english bombardments.I have air superiority over the channel, with vast advantage in numbers of both fighter and bombers.
I'm not going to rant any more but the us have got 800 IC...whereas in reality US output was thrice the germans. Here provided all the early conquest there is a Nazi Giga state by 1941, even if Barbarossa is launched by standard date.
I have noted that rare shortages will reduce german IC after SU conquest at 600.

I loaded as USA and ENgland and noted US build queues was a mess , the AI buildingg Mass Battleships and AA gun.I changed that and also removed a great number of infantry builds...Only one series of Marines though... Motorized wasn't reserched but mech is available in 1941.
I plan to carry on playing USA trying to invade Eurasian land power against massed armored might, perhaps with nukes.

I Had read on the forums that germany was nerfed. I was wrong.
Would it have been made a difference if i had waited till 1941?
I still would have had superior IC to the SU, and Massive Panzer formations with enough fuel to run for a very long time, I took full oil plan plant option.

I mean i fear ive put the difficultu to easy.Don't know enough to check in afile sadly, but when i start a new scenario i doesnt show easy on the options tab.

If this is not not blunder of my part, is it a design feature of the mod?
I really like the tech tree, and the feel of the mod, but such IC for Germany is disturbing: I could field massive mobile forces and decently upgrade them along with sufficient luftwaffe support.
Maybe Both US and USSR IC should be raised by 100-200.

Germany should be a lot harder with what we are currently running (0.50.28). Several misc.txt settings in 0.50.24 were still AoD vanilla settings and not CORE settings (my fault, I know). Conquered IC now yields less effective IC and 1 IC gives only 1 TC (though this is actually harder on JAP, SOV and ITA than on GER).

Conquering all of China shouldn't really be possible. Or rather - it should be the exception, not the rule. And I hope the changes that are coming will "fix" Germany. Germany has been overpowered in all versions of Hearts of Iron as far as I know.

One of the big problems with Germany is that it has to behave realistically as an AI country. This usually means that it is overpowered in the hands of a human player.

As a modder, you usually watch hands-off games and try to strike the right balance. What we see hands-off (in the current version, or rather two versions back) was Germany underperforming as an AI country.

Just a few examples:

AI Germany builds a rocket site in Stralsund from 1936 up to level2. We thought about removing that, but Germany did build up Peenemünde during that period. So 15 IC got into this rocket site for the AI, while the player will invest it in tanks.

Historically, Germany built several ships that did not get used (like the cruiser they sold to the Soviet Union or the Graf Zeppelin that was never finished or the H-class battleships that at least got laid down and then broken up). A player will eitehr finish those units and use them or never build them.

AI Germany is set to build a couple of hundred subs (and does not use them properly due to code limitations). No player will have the patience to build 1000 subs, organise them into flotillas and set them on patrols.

So, it is not so easy ....

GULP, is Japan going to be playable with this TC change if it's goal is to conquer China?

Very hard, but not impossible. Definitely no longer possible by late 1938, as it used to be.

Well, the question remains: when will we see a new version?
We are currently working on and testing with 0.27.
My Italian surrender events need some more work to ensure ITA properly releases all their conquered provinces to their rightful owners.
I'm currently fixing/rewriting some Lend Lease stuff for USA/ENG/SOV/CHI.
We still have problems with ITA AI performing poorly in ETH and/or moving most of the land units to North Africa, leaving the mainland open for invasion.
GER AI does have problems in Poland and SOV, it rarely stalls in BEL but usually wipes out FRA in 1940.

Playing as USA I encountered an odd slider behaviour with offmap money - that's not included in slider calculations thus you always have negative money. Only the advanced sliders react on very low money by temporarily jumping CG sliders upwards. With standard autosliders you stay negative and loose research speed as you can't pay them properly.
To work around this we have to convert these offmap money costs into offmap supplies.

On a more positive note:

While you will not see a release of a finalised version anytime soon, I think that 0.50.28 will be a version that we can put up here as Beta 7.

Does AI Germany perform mass encirclements during its invasion of the USSR?

So, it is not so easy ....
Maybe give events that only boost an AI Germany? Or is it not that simple.
