You mean crash to desktop? Well, i'm not sure. Actually, when i started playing EU II, it crashed in ten minutes:D. Well, but then it was ok for loooong time. Oh, it's not answer to your question. What am i doing here? ;)

the game crashes occasionally. varies. i sometimes go long stretches without it crashing. save every once in a while, so if it crashes, you won't lose too much. also, i think to minimize crashes, try not to run any other programs in the background.

no, unfortunately, you have to rely on the autosave function, which is every year, every two years or every three years only.

So, there is an autosave function, isn't there?
How can I activate it?

Thanks again

When you start the game, you have an "option" button (I don't recall the exact name) and Autosave is among these options, along with the AI agressivness and the difficulty level.

I believe it is also available while in the game in the options menu (press F10).

I know. The game can be unstable on some systems. On mine, with patch 1.09, it never crashed.

Could be more precise and your problem description and could you post me your machine configuration?

You have patch 1.09?????
I thought that there was only 1.01!

I have Win 98 SE, an Athlon Thunderbird 1200 Mhz, Mother board Biostar M7VKD, the Nort American version of EU2.

If you need more, please ask!

Thanks

Why didn't you tell me before you had EU 2??? I thought you were talking about EU 1 since you're in Italy and the software hasn't been released there yet!
Be more precise next time please :)

Ok, now unto the problem...

What you have is a random Crash To Desktop (random CTD). There will soon be another patch, 1.02 and it will solve some of these problems, but probably not all.

The patch should be here no latter than next week.

While waiting for the patch, try disbaling any firewall, anti-virus or any other software running in the backround like ICQ or Getright and defrag your hard disk at least once a weak.

Hey viper I am somewhat the same config and the same problem.. seems that can come from
TBird, AMD, K7 motherboard or Win98SE :(
I will pray for the 1.02 patch to work for me so...

did you receive my private message Greywolf? i asked you to send me your game by e-mail... your problem is different, it happens at a specific date. His problem is more random than yours.

I don't think there will be any more patches for EU 1. EU 2 will soon be available world-wide and all efforts are directed toward this one.

It's hard to say what is causing a random crash, but the thread "running problems" can help you with it.

I'm having a date issue problem as well I think.

I'm playing the Etheopians...."Yes I wanted to play something with a little more solitude" :) and around 154X the program ejects and I'm back to my desktop. I got the latest patch for EU2, but no go for fixin that problem..... Am I running the game too fast mabye? Or should I try another country to play :(

At any rate let me know....my Etheopian ministers want to get back to financing yet another war against the Turks without being attacked  !

Thanks

Man's one great weakness is the fact that he is just that......
