I had the Avatar of Krypta appear fairly early in my game after spamming a few temples to Agrela. I wasn't really prepared for that thing appearing next to my capital, and it's attacks were devastating! I pulled in all my armies from all over the world, including a buffed up gold dragon as the main tank. It was gearing up to be an epic battle, but once I got her surrounded she refused to attack anyone.

This was a big downer because she was surrounded by relatively weak units, with 2 rings of archers taking her down quite slowly. Had she actually attacked, she would have forced me to recruit elite units and try to lead her away from my cities or something, because she could have easily take out my massed archers in two or three attacks.

I think it would be more fun to fight an avatar who fights back, maybe with some fewer hitpoints. Peppering a helpless, stationary target with arrows for 15 turns really wastes an opportunity for some high drama.

Instead of spawning near the capital, it would be so much better if she started far away with your capital as the goal, laying waste to everything on her way Godzilla style. Attacking every turn of course!
