  • Cities: Skylines
I've been playing for a long time on a new map, I'm in the process of creating a city, realistic, everything is cramped etc. as you know, I had a problem with traffic jams, but I always manage to eliminate traffic jams... The problem that arose today was the fluidity of the game... at some point it starts to slow down the game more and more and I thought that if the creators reworked the scaling of buildings on the basis of one block, which from a distance you know will resemble a building but will not burden the computer so much, you know something like old games like call of duty 1, from a distance there will be no difference in graphics because we won't even notice the difference, and the processor will not be so burdened. Thanks to this we could build dream cities without worrying about the building limit, which of course would not be the map limit. I think it would improve optimization a lot. What do you think? ;)

I dont think this will do much, the gpu will be less needed. But the bottleneck later in the game isn't the gpu but the cpu. It has everything to do with the amount of people being simulated. The calculations of pathfinding etc.

You can check this, just put the graphic settings later in the game to a minimum, and see if this resolves the fluidity of the game, of so maybe your solution would work, if not the cpu is the problem and your solution will have minimum impact on fluidity.

The game is already using LOD to remove detail from distant objects, so I'm not sure what you're suggesting - to make it more aggressive? I don't think that's necessary.

I'm currently doing an all pedestrian city, it's working better than expected. I have another idea;

Suggest CO add new settings:
Visual Animation Paths (displayed in game)! Settings from 5,000 to 50,000.000.

Let's set this to 20,000.

Example: If the game reports 50,000,000, there are actually only 20,000 (population).

Results:
. Great performance.
. Peace and quiet in the city;
. Can hear a pin drop.
. No traffic jams;
. No accidents.
