I've looked through the first six pages and couldn't find a thread about this.

I'm playing William the Conqourer of England. I've murdered my to first sons Robert and Richard so my third son William can inherit.
I married him of the Aines of Poitiue, heir to Aquitaine, and gave him the duchy of Lancaster. He then went on to getting three sons
William, William and William!!!! I don't know if they belive in numerology, or just wants to make sure that the next king gets to be called
William, no matter how homocidal I am?

Sounds like a mere coincidence to be honest.
If so it's one that ought to be prevented in code, IMO. Historically occasionally 2 children might get the same name, if a/ you had a lot of them and b/ one died, but otherwise this would basically never happen.

Yes, that's a good point.

Lasse Nielsen, do you have a save file or a screenshot of the three Williams?

Sorry, no - was under patch 1.04 and I've updatet to the betapatch. Long story short - since the savegame folder has been moved to documents I've had to delete heavily so as to not run out of space on my ssd-system disc...

I agree that it must be a coinscidence - but one that shouldn't be possible. And I've had some funky names for my english kings when the ai get to name them - Maurice, Laurent, Turold (I think), Berold (I think), funny stuff!

There were a couple of kings of Scotland who gave two of their sons the same name whilst both were alive.

I think an issue here is that when you have twins, the game will sometimes automatically give them - if two boys or two girls - the same name. It doesn't happen often, but it has happened before and it's a bit annoying as if it happens to the AI then they can't fix the names.

Another problem with twins is that the game will sometimes swap them round after a save, or even (if I recall) after re-naming them. For example I once had twin boys, and I named them Philippe and Jacques (born and named in that order) but when I loaded the save Jacques was considered the eldest, and he was my heir. I don't have a current save as I deleted my old saves when 1.04 was released -- I can try to reproduce this though, assuming it is not a known issue that has already been corrected.

You can move your CK2 user files including saves wherever you like. See the "file locations" sticky thread above.

Originally I moved my entire documents folder (and music, pictures, etc.) from my system disc to my data disc. But when I installed Steam and football manager, it just createt a new documentsfolder on my system disc and put all of FM's files there. I then had to put all my graphical files (16gbs worth now) in that folder.

But I'll give it a try.

Yes, of course it will do that by default. After installation you have to create the text file mentioned in that thread to point the application elsewhere.
