If Crusaders Kings 3 had a Custodians team, what would they need to fix? We are writing our top list of necessary fixes to the game that will simply SHAKE you.

- in the management skill tree there is a meritocracy skill that allows you to conduct intrigues for the right to a kingdom or empire. This is very strong and interferes with the full presence of the player's gameplay for the regent (why play for the regent if I can easily take away power)

- the regency system should be more dynamic or the regent should receive more opportunities to advance his power (as well as the overlord his in return)

- gain travel experience for the travel skill tree during travels

Ability to trade dejure land with another ruler.
If I have some dejure of one ruler and they have dejure land of mine, we should be able to set up a trade.
Keeps the borders less gory... XD

All valid points, although I would consider them as a minor problems, the major ones an priority for the Custodian team in my opinion would be:
-> Warfare system is too basic, not realistic and definitely need a rework
-> Diplomacy system to be actually introduced plus alliance rework, maybe even tributary system introduced
-> Better AI, hard and very hard difficulty level introduced, CK3 lacks a challenge
-> Courtiers rework for NPC to matter
-> Religion system rework, including holy orders, a lot flavor for Catholics and coronations activity added
-> If possible Legends system rework and House Fued rework as those were definitely a miss

delete outdated content was more important than adding new one

player already found many old legacy event doesn't make sense under the current travel system

paradox certainly doesn't have the resource to update them all

so update those that can and delete the rest

the most outdated core system are religion which need far more tenet and doctrine option

paradox need to make holy site into doctrine option

and add mechanic to reform existing faith like how culture can be reformed not just diverge into new one

new tenet and improve existing one would be the most easy and efficient way to improve it

the entire event system needs a rework

at the moment events:
are either complete BS (like people acting complete opposite of their traits)
they make no sense and/or break immersion,
about a random nobody instead of the people close to us (you can be married for 50 years without ever have an event about your wife),
too repetitive (i keep getting the same 5 events over and over and over)
tell you what the most optimal outcome is so there's no risk ever

possible solutions:
make traits matter
if there are no possible event triggers, don't trigger a BS event (if my wife doesn't cheat, don't make her do it through an event)
more randomness / more different events
hide the event outcomes and make them a bit more believable
recheck all event triggers (get rid of stuff like babies that go wandering and hate you afterwards; or you talking to yourself about yourself)

Definitely not more randomness, that just encourages immersion breaking events.
And the game xcoms me more often than not, when it says I have 99% chance to succeed at something...

- make bad opinions matter more. If a powerful vassal hates you, it should *really* be a problem to deal with

- make AI’s marriage choices much more prioritized by military alliance, giving the AI more capacity to thrive

- make location of characters more detailed and try to reduce teleporting as much as possible (commanders, prisoners, etc)

What I personally would like to see:
-> Add an option to the character finder to filter out characters who are already betrothed, or have a trait that prevents marriage. Can I arrange a marriage with this character? Yes/No/Whatever.
-> Finally fix the old bugs in the childhood personality events, where they incorrectly assume that trusting and cynical are opposing traits (it's actually trusting vs. paranoid and cynical vs. zealous). Also, maybe add a few more of them, and make sure they can only trigger if all of their options are valid.
-> The isolate capital modifier should not be removed just because a plague ends. Suggestion-Link
-> Clan vassals should automatically be removed from tax jurisdictions when they convert to admin. Suggestion-Link
-> The UI should allow me to view all of my traits if I have more than 25 of them.
-> There should be an option in message Settings for a notification + auto-pause if a scheme reaches 5 advantages.
-> The logic for AI lieges revoking your holy order leases should be fixed.
-> The wandering spouse problem should finally be fixed maybe.
-> Adopt as successor interaction for adventurers should be fixed.
-> The ruler designer should save the CoA, dynasty name and motto together with the rest of the character. I don't want to copy/paste that every time I start a new run.
-> Kinslayer-traits/doctrines are still reversed. And this should still be fixed.
-> There should be an alert when one of your court positions gets the infirm trait. Suggestion-Link
-> There are still gender law bugs that should be fixed.
-> Message settings should also be applied to alerts, not just notifications.
-> There should be an alert for when you can demand conversion from someone.
-> There should be a *lot* of new messages in general, particularly when it comes to courtier/guest management (arrives, wants to leave, leaves, dies), war declarations (in your realm, involving your allies, dynasty members or neighbors), battles (I just want to auto-pause on battle end) and vassals (I want to know when I have a new vassal, so I can give directives or change contracts).
-> The script for AI title revocation of baronies should be updated. Suggestion-Link
-> There should be a clearer distinction between legal, suspected and biological parents. Especially now that adoption is much more common. Suggestion-Link

Adding to the above they should revisit the faulty Byzantine borders in 1178.The devs themselves said they took notice of that in the thread which proposed the correct borders. But still no word on that.

Specific throne-rooms for regions beyond the handful we have atleast one or two for each expansion. including regional tribal throne-rooms.
Make Hold-Court more interesting and tied into stuff, instead of just being a random event generator.

For this, I would want an Custodian Team of CK3, to rewrite all Childhood Personality Traits Events completly and the Options, to change the Personality Trait should be used by the AI too and it should depend on the Personality Traits of the Guardian, instead of the 3 Choices the Child gets.

Would make the Personality Traits of Guardians a lot more important.

An important point about the words in the op post that I forgot to write and which I would like to draw attention to.

It was suggested to put meritocracy at the end of the tree and make the quest for the throne really difficult. It was suggested many times by many players in different topics and forum sections. (all this in combination with comments about the too weak regent)

All this was said immediately after the release of Tours & Tournaments (May 2023).
And here we are at the end of 2024-beginning of 2025 and NOTHING has been done about this multiple mention.
Understand correctly - I respect the developers, I understand that they have an approved plan for the DLC and other things. And usually I don't give a damn and don't make loud noises about some "shortcomings", whatever they may be
But for heaven's sake, what has to happen and how many thousands of bureaucratic approvals and confirmations have to be approved so that this rather obvious incompatibility is taken into account, at least worthy of a developer's comment.
Even if the answer is "I'm fine as is", then at least find out this point of view.

And this is only about the thesis with meritocracy and the regent from this post

I'm surprised the accolades UI has not been brought up yet as it could really use a QOL pass (though I guess it's a bit lower priority as it's largely ignorable).

Otherwise, I'd probably start by opening up the suggestions sub-forum and sorting by votes: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/crusader-kings-iii-suggestions.1082/?order=vote_score

Some of the top-voted suggestion threads that I'd like to see (more) work on would be:

with randomness i mean the outcomes. With the current system i don't have to read anything: i see the event pop up and without reading anything i instantly know what option to select because it's always the exact same outcome.

Currently most of the events are coded with 3 outcomes: a good, a neutral and a bad one

example:
while travelling we find ourselves on crossroads:
go left: you die a horrible death and your heir becomes a eunuch
go straight: you're stuck for 2 weeks in the snow
go right: some random dude joins you and leads you through the mountains

the outcomes are ALWAYS the exact same, and because of the tooltips 99% of the players will always pick option 3 ... so it beats the purpose of the event

almost forget about trade system

the ck2 one are terrible for many reason

such as the whole thing shut down if there are war up stream

pretty sure paradox would not be able to add good new trade system into ck3

but at least they can add more local trade goods production building similar to all the mine already exist in game

so holding famous for glass or spice production can get the extra value they have historically
