I've just gotten a new little computer and I was very happy with it, then this happened: I had been too long without EU so I installed it, and then proceeded to unzip the IGC files into the folder. All was good until I ran the patch.exe file and it shouted at me:
"Unable to start application. The Microsoft virtual machine cannot be found.

Class not registered"

Help!

right click on the .exe in question go to properties and click on the compatibility tab.

click run this program in compatibility mode for and select some old windows.

EU has been around for a good few years so you need to use compatabillity mode for most related programs.

No problems - the IGC is great fun. Try the Golden Horde sometime, it was the one game that managed to keep me interested from GC start until 1792 :)

(Which begs the question - did it work better now? ;))
