I just installed the IGC and I'm currently playing Japan. I have colonised a couple of provinces in Northern Asia and built them up into cities, but for some reason I don't get an option to build fortresses. Does anyone know why this is? I thought it might be something to do with population so I tried increasing it to 10,000, but that didn't work.
Also, what is the deal with colonisation and natives in the IGC? It seems as if natives in provinces I've established colonies in no longer attack and my flag appears to be flying over the native villiages in these provinces, but their populations never get subsumed into mine, even when the colony becomes a city.
Finally, is there some kind of FAQ available that answers these kinds of questions? I've looked through this forum and the documentation that came with the patch but I can't seem to find anything.
