I'm Castile it's 1523 and I have Burgundy as a PU & I'm integrating them...

currently they are at 50% integration. Someone told me not to bother because an event will give me Burgundy instantly? Is this true or should I just finish integration? I'd hate to waste all that diplo, cancel integration and then the event never triggers... PLZ HLP!

Did you get the Burgundy PU due to the burgundian inheritance event chain? Then you would have inherited them if they had gotten the event The Duchess of Burgundy Dies. But that event can only happen if they have the modifier mary_is_on_the_throne which they get from the inheritance(even if mary is not involved) and which lasts for 40 years. Afterwards the event can't happen anymore and since you can only integrate a PU after 50 years, it is too late for you. The event has an MTTH of 15 years, but it can't happen at war. So to increase the chances of getting the event, it is helpful to be at peace most of the time.

Sometimes Charles actually gets an heir and the inheritance event does not fire (or Charles dies before he take the throne). If Charles dies with an heir (or dies before he becomes Duke) you can get the PU "the old fashioned way."

My last Burgundy game, I actually killed Charles heir because I wanted to use the Burg Inheritance event to free integrate the PUs. I had destroyed France via the mission tree and Austria was my best friend -- no war after the event fired. Lotharingia is currently 3k development and growing fast.
