Get this when I try to uninstall or repair. I can't delete the key as described in the aformented sticky thread as above because it's not there. Any suggestions?

If you still get the uninstall/Repair rather than the install option then there is still something on your system, either in the registery or the installshield folders as described in the Sticky thread.
Try searching in the folders and the registry, derivations of Hearts, HOI2 ...

I've deleted both of those and the main HOI2 folder, and I still get the uninstall button when I insert the disc. When I click uninstall, nothing happens.
Sorry, but if must be detecting something on your system to get the repair option instead of the install option. Search for Paradox and or the publisher of your version in both the registry and the Instalshield folders.
