Description

I was able to launch the game exactly once. Then, every time I click Play in the Paradox launcher, I see the title screen for a few seconds and immediately get a CTD. I've reinstalled several times, same problem.

The crash uploader doesn't seem to ever succeed in uploading anything, by the way.

Hi! While the game used to be playable on Steam Deck on older versions, we don't really support SteamOS or Steam Deck and the QA department can't help much with troubleshooting it (or verifying if it still meets the requirements).
I'll move the thread to our Technical Support forum, hopefully they'll be able to assist you further!
Best regards

From those logs the crash is in libc.so.6 . I don't know how the Deck and SteamOS work in this regard, but check for any available updates to it.

Similarly if there are separate processes for updating the AMD video driver, and Mesa, do that too.

If those don't help or are not possible/available on the Deck, then I don't think this game will ever run properly on it, I am sorry!

As you can see the exception log looks the same as the previous one, it calls out that same lib.

I take it there were no updates available in that or the video area?

i see! Odd that module keeps getting called out then.

I'm struggling to think was else we might look at, to be honest. Have you tried different settings in the launcher-Game Settings menu?

I did a factory reset, and the game runs now.

I noticed that, even though I was running the game from the MicroSD where I'd already installed it, it still gave me the EULAs and some messages about install scripts. Those didn't show up when I reinstalled it those other times.

Reading between the lines a bit, it appears that some bits of configuration got stuck somewhere? I guess?

Those files are recorded in a different location from where you install the game. Under Linux that would be something like

.local/share/Paradox\ Interactive/Victoria\ 3/

So presumably the reset meant that location was wiped and recreated.
