Hi devs,

Francesco told me to repost this here, so I did.

Hi Francesco,

lovely work, adds lots of immersion. Speaking of which there still are lots of immersion destroying graphics carryovers from vanilla and maybe other mods in IC which I play as:

- WW I types as first generation aircraft. IMHO they should be changed for mid 20-ies types. As an example of what I mean for UK we should have Gloster Gamecock instead of S.E. 5a and with a corresponding photograph instead of a Spitfire.

I suppose such changes are needed across the board for navies, air forces and armies. Enormous time consuming work I suspect but it would improve immersion no end.

The first generation medium tanks are often prototypes that in reality numbered dozens rather than the 1000's produced in game.

Hi,

sorry but I don`t understand what that has got to do with using correct pictures whenever available.

Eh, it was more of a generalized "immersion" suggestion.

You know Oldtimer

it is very very easy to make these modifications on your own - be a modder ;-) all you need is in the gfx\interface\models file I think, crop the photo you like to match the pixel size of the corresponding vanilla photo (I use paint.net but also the MsOffice Picture Viewer can do) and paste it in the folder. Each photo is coded so for example Ill_bri_eng_1_0 will represent you level 1 british artillery brigade photo and Ill_div_eng_13_0 will represent a british early level 1 interceptor photo (I'm looking at an AoD folder but the principle remains the same) so find a photo, crop it to size, rename it and copy it in the folder and bob's your uncle.

I'm more involved in making models and haven't looked into brigade/division illustrations - but I believe that it may be as simple as above.

Hi,

you sure make it sound easy but my ambitions don`t stretch as far as becoming a modder.

My son might perhaps be persuaded to have a go...

As long as it won't distract him from doing his homework though ;-)

But seriously don't wait for anyone to do it exactly like you want it cos you're gonna be waiting for a long time.. I was exactly as frustrated with inaccuracies and inconsistency when I decided to learn how to do some work on graphics. i don't count myself as a modder, just doing some immersion work for my own satisfaction and whoever wants to use it it's cool.
