Well now might as well be the time to dream right?

What's your dream when this IP gets revived in a decade or more?

For me, with the success of 2.0 + CK3 I think the natural next game would have full 3D characters. Maybe with the ability to play important characters inside the realm just as much as the whole realm itself.

Play as Rome or follow just one clan inside the nation. See animated events as your character talking to the senate, leading the legions, triumphs. Mid way through the games development they add china in the warring states period. All the pops and cities and cults of the current game! Ceasar start date DLC. Follow Caesar from his consulship following him specifically. Independent families operating like characters in CK3 doing their personal goals.

So many dreams. Share yours!

Sorry to kill your dreams so quickly but considering their IR experience, im pretty sure any I3 idea is being put in a safe with a warning "never open again"

Blood only comes with the “Blood and Bronze” DLC pack for £2.99

The best we can hope for is like Vicky2 a Developer on his/her own time makes a bugfix/QOL patch. Unfortunately due to Economics and MBA's in charge this game is as dead as March of Eagles.

I think all the game needs now is a rework on the trading and a better battling system. After that I'd love a dlc with some alternative fantasy starting scenarios, or starting scenario customization and custom nation designer (but done right instead of how it's done in eu4). The game as it is is a great civilization builder, and I think it's more fun to play with the minors and establish your position as a relevant nation rather than blob with the big boys, and would love some updates that would take advantage of it.

Decouple armies from territories, allowing units to move to specific positions on the map. If two opposing armies cross into each other's area of influence, they initiate a battle. If you want a unit to avoid battle, you could set a "battle avoidance" stance that makes it automatically reroute its path to move around intervening enemy armies (or you could micro the unit yourself if preferred). This would allow for better positional strategies, ambushes, harassment skirmishes etc.

Similarly, cities and fortifications would have specific positions on the map, and any forts they have would exert a similar area of influence to an army.

On that note, I would like to see a rework of fortifications. Make forts garrisoned by levies by default, so the more forts you have in a region, the fewer levy cohorts you can get from it, but allow the player to reallocate garrisons to levy armies. This would allow the player to increase their levy armies at the expense of defensiveness.

Then allow armies to enter and garrison a fortification, making it harder to assault directly but consuming more food.

I'm dreaming of a refund.

The only reason I bought the game and all the dlcs prior to the 2.0 update was to support the future development of a game that I thought was going to be better than ck3 especially with the pop system and the possibility of a much discussed (by the forumites) trade rework.

However now, a lot of us are finding that the game was probably already canceled at that point. It's pretty sad a company like pdx can go around abusing their reputation for updating and maintaining games well after release by hiding information (like development has ceased) so they can squeeze a few more bucks out of the community.

Don't be like that man. I still believe once this pandemic starts slowing down and pds hires enough people they will support it again. I've been having more fun playing imperator and the bronze age 2.0 mod than I'm having with other pdx titles like ck3 and the recent eu4 fiasco dlc. The game as it is right now is pretty solid, a lot of cool mods are being developed and with another update it's ready to be remarketed as a brand new game to the public, completely different and better than the release. The devs know this and I'm sure once they'll return to updating the game in a year or less.

I like the positivity of your sentiment but it just doesn't seem realistic with the current state of things at paradox. While imperator is currently in a good state it really is disappointing to hear that the development is being dropped as it will stop the game from really reaching it's full potential. I think you're right that the devs know this. However, as with many large companies just because the employees know something, it doesn't mean the management does.

I think paradox has taken a weird turn over the past 2 years (around the same time I picked pdx games back up). Moving away from the community and towards best practices from other large studios which leads older fans to be disappoint. It's especially frustrating when you drop money on something (voting with our wallet) to let the company know the interest is there then find out there likely wasn't any need to do that as the decision was most likely already made to "pause" development. And I understand business models need to change and adapt and the fact that those were my own assumptions that dev would continue without any guarantee but it is quite rapid how quickly paradox is changing their business model and obviously frustrating more than just me, judging by the reactions on several of the pdx game forums in the past few months.

On a side note, I think the imperator numbers give a bit of a false impression of the actual interest in the game as the 2.0 rework required a bit of relearning the interface/mechanics and was dropped right before northern lords. I know for me at least, that I was waiting to get a bit more time to get into imperator and played more ck3 in the meantime where I didn't need to spend time relearning the mechanics and interface.
